Review by Brian P. Hangey "Brian" : sledding tube
i agree with one of the other reviewers....you need to inflate it with a real tire air pump( at a gas station). i read online that they can be inflated to around 80psi.....but i didn't go that high. it works great! i am a 195lb. man and it fits me just fine. i only used it once so far and will write back after i've gotten the chance to use it again. so far, i would recommend it. just make sure you use a real tire air pump! Update(2.11.11). I have now used this tube for sledding a few times and it is great! If you're looking for a sledding tube, buy this one!
Review by J. M. Wck "JMW" : Great for River Floats!
I got 8 of these, and while one of them blew, which I'm guessing was a fluke, the others worked out great! kudos to the reviewer who said to make sure you had enough air in them. They will get pretty big--big enough for an adult, or you can leave it smaller for a child. we even used one to float our tub of ice and drinks. Works great for that too. Can't complain at all. I have no idea if they work on a car or truck though, lol.
Review by Clay Cope "ClayCope" : Great for rivers! (You have to put enough air in it)
So when I first blew up the tube, I used a little car air compressor, the ones you plug into your lighter. The tube was not big at all, and I was majorly dissapointed. Then today I stopped by the gas station and put a lot of air into it. I was surprised at how big it became, and it worked great for floating down the Snoqualmie river up here. After reading the other reviews, it's clear to me that the other reviewers didn't put enough air into their tubes. I'm a 180 pound guy and this tube was plenty big enough for me, no problem. I would highly recommend the tube and can't wait for winter use. Just be sure you keep putting air into it (I would have a good compressor).
Review by L. H. Jones : Great product
Inflates to a very large size. I am using it under my winter pool cover. It is plenty big enough for my purposes.
Review by Lynda Peil : Just like I used as a kid
I lived in an inner tube at the beach as a kid and had a really hard time finding them in these days of tubeless tires. These were just the same as I remember, love them.
Review by Lewis D. Poggiali : sand tube
This item was made to fill with sand and used in a physical training program for athletics.
Review by L. Libraro : Great for the river
The thick rubber in this tube stands up well to rocks and other hazards in river tubing. It also inflates to a size that is fine for me, a 170 lb male. I've tried to find the maximum safe inflation pressure online, but I haven't found anything yet. Just blow it up until it is the right size and you will be happy with it, I promise.
Review by M. McDonough : Not all that big
As far as snow-tubing is concerned, this tube is great for a child or perhaps a young teenager, but good luck fitting on it if you're adult! I think that an adult may have a better time water-tubing on it though. Fully inflated, this tube comes up to my thigh while standing.
Review by J. Killian "Judy K "pool mama"" : hanging 10
I remember the inner tubes from cars so long ago and that's what I expected when I ordered this tube. What a surprise. The thick, wrapped rubber looks like it will last forever. I use this inner tube for back rehab in the swimming pool. After exercising, I go to the deep end of the pool and just dangle with the tube under both arms. This stretches out my spine and gives my bulging discs some relief. When I received the item, I was afraid the very long valve would poke me but I find that I don't even notice it. I have plenty of room (146 lb adult female)and since I never learned to swim, I use it to keep me afloat so that I can pseudo swim...it works! This product will last, not like the newfangled swim rings made of plastic. Baby Boomers rejoice...have fun again like a kid and help your achy bones at the same time.
Review by A. Champagne : Disapointed
We purchased 2 of these tubes to go tubing down a crick at our cabin. I went by the other reviews that said the tubes were the perfect size for adults if you blow them up enough. Other people stated they were too small but many others said they just didn't blow them up enough. We took them to the cabin and used our heavy duty air compressor. My husband put so much air in it he thought it might explode so he stopped. It was still too small. Our 12 year old son couldn't even use this tiny tube.
